ok my tuppence worth:
I'm flitting back and forth between places so I didn't have time to sort out sisi, but I did some testing whilst I was trying (and failing) to play and then some testing overnight.
First here's an "idle" run - basically the stuff I normally have running and nothing else.
1 health warning, I'm on wireless, but before you jump and say that's the issue on the packet loss I'm about to highlight, check out all of the data - it's completely bizarre.

Next to make sure it wasn't just a load thing - I watched Ashes to Ashes in HD on the BBC iPlayer (\o/ for the bbc) - note the lack of packet loss to the router

I logged straight into Bob and ran another test before I have to go off again today.
Eve - Foolish Bob Target Name: N/A IP: 87.237.38.200 Date/Time: 23/04/2009 07:43:48 to 23/04/2009 08:22:40

as you can see from the last 2 timestamps, the last bob run is right after the overnight test.
Anyway, I hope someone can make sense of that behaviour because to me that just seems bizarre.
Oh one of my annoyingly correct friends also said to check about QoS on my router interfering as his company has noticed issues with that in the past - though with the main / alt difference, I guess it shouldn't be that, but I'm just a software monkey so what do I know, so all info is good info as far as I'm concerned.
